eIDAS - Verification of electronic attestations (standards update)
Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/1735 of 15 July 2026 amends Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1569 as regards applicable standards and specifications. It is made under Regulation (EU) No 910/2014 on electronic identification and trust services (in particular Articles 45d(5), 45e(2), 45f(6) and 45f(7)), and updates the technical basis for the verification of electronic attestations of attributes.

This regulation is an amending act. The summary below describes the changes it makes to Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1569. For the authoritative wording of each amendment, refer to the official text in the Official Journal linked above.
Article 1: Amendments to Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1569
This Article amends the rules for verifying electronic attestations of attributes:
- It modifies Article 3(2) to require compliance with the schemes for the attestation of attributes, where applicable.
- It amends Article 4 concerning the circumstances of revocation and the use of privacy-preserving techniques.
- It updates Article 9 to include verification mechanism specifications and the signing or sealing requirements for verification results.
The reference standards are set out in technical Annexes I to IV, which include the ETSI TS 119 471 and ETSI TS 119 478 standards.
Article 2: Entry into force
This Regulation shall enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union.
Article 1(3) shall apply from 1 January 2027.
This Regulation shall be binding in its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States.
